Save-a-Lot Shopping Tips
Shopping at Save-a-lot can be tricky. Many of the pre-packaged and convenience foods are just as expensive or perhaps a bit cheaper than other grocery stores. You can save quite a bit on staples at Save-a-lot. Basic items like salt, baking soda, baking powder, produce, rice, and beans are examples of these items.
Save-a-lot also has name brand items and these items when on sale, and combined with coupons can provide great savings!
Examples:
Save-a-lot recently had Butterball Turkey Bacon on sale for $1.00 per pack. I had $.65 off 1 pack coupons, making a pack of turkey bacon only $.35! I bought 6 packs and put them in the big freezer. I have some more $.65 coupons and I have fingers crossed for another great deal as we're down to one pack.
Fresh Express salad mix on sale for $1.00, I had a $1.00 coupon. FREE salad mix!
Cheese Nips on sale for $1.00, I had a $1.00 off 2 coupon. .50 boxes of Cheese Nips.
Save-a-lot has a Smart Shoppers Club as well. You can sign up HERE to receive the weekly sales, coupons, and discounts. When you sign up, you will receive the opportunity to print a $5.00 off your $25.00 purchase which can be combined with other coupons!
Recently, I started getting coupon offers from Save-a-lot as well. These are good for store brand products or free items when you spend a certain amount.
Current notable deals include:
$.88 Peaches, Plums, and Nectarines
$.88 Bartlett Pears
$.88 Sweet Jumbo Onions
$.88 Roma Tomatoes
$.88lb. Chicken Thighs and Drumsticks
It is important to note that while Save-a-lot does accept coupons, they do NOT double.
